USCIS Expects H-1B Cap to be Reached Within the First Week
March 26, 2014

USCIS issued a news release today announcing it expects to receive more than enough H-1B petitions to reach both caps by April 7th (65,000 regular H-1Bs plus 20,000 for those with an advanced US degree).

The agency is prepared to use a random selection process to meet the numerical limit and non-duplicate petitions that are not selected will be returned with the filing fees.

Due to the high level of premium processing receipts anticipated and the time needed to perform the random selection, USCIS will only promise to begin premium processing for H-1B cap cases no later than April 28, 2014.  Read the full Press Release.
