White House: Travel Restrictions End on November 8th
The Biden Administration has confirmed that the new U.S. travel policy announced previously without an exact effective date will begin on November 8th.
This new policy will finally end the patchwork of COVID-19 Travel Restrictions and is welcomed news to employers and their foreign national employees who have faced hurdles entering/returning to the U.S. The new policy applies to both international air travel and land travel.
The U.S. will accept COVID-19 vaccines authorized by the FDA or the WHO (currently Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca/Covishield, Sinopharm and Sinovac).
Despite the White House announcement regarding November 8th, there remains questions including what exemptions the U.S. will grant to the vaccine requirements. For instance, children under 18 are likely to be exempt from the requirements.
