As a U.S. citizen, when do I need a visa to travel internationally?

In many cases, U.S. travelers do not require a visa to enter a country for tourism or business trips less than 90 days. For instance, U.S. travelers may enter the Schengen Area (which consists of 26 European countries) for up to 90 days without applying for a visa. Additionally countries who participate in the Visa Waiver Program must permit U.S. citizens to enter visa free for no more than 90 days. More information about visa requirements specific to your destination can be found on the Department of State website.

Who will work on my international visa application?

ILG has an established network of professionals authorized to practice law in numerous countries. We help to facilitate the visa application process with outside counsel to ensure it works smoothly and efficiently.

How long does the process take?

The length of the process depends on the country you would like to enter and type of visa you are applying for. Each country has unique requirements for visa processing. At the outset of the process, ILG will work with the appropriate foreign representative to gauge the timeline so that you know what to expect.
