USCIS Postpones Implementation of Notice to Appear Policy

Following the release of its Notice to Appear (NTA) Policy Memo on July 5th, USCIS announcedtoday that the implementation of the memo has been postponed. The memo instructed USCIS service centers to prepare guidelines for implementing the new policy within 30 days of its issuance. As of today, guidance is still pending, therefore the NTA memo will not be implemented until it is provided. At this time, we do not know when new guidance will be issued or how the NTA memo will be implemented once in effect.

We will continue providing updates on implementation of the memo as they become available.  ILG will also issue further guidance on immigration best practices in light of the NTA memo at a later date.
