USCIS Completes Data Entry for H-1B Cap Cases

On May 4, 2015, USCIS announced that it completed data entry of all fiscal year 2016 H-1B cap cases selected through the random selection process.

This means USCIS should soon complete issuing receipt notice for regular processing cases (premium processing H-1B receipts have already been sent) and will now begin returning cases that were not selected. Due to the high volume of filings this year, the time frame for returning petitions is uncertain and USCIS asks petitioners to wait for either a receipt notice or the return of an unselected case.

USCIS will issue another announcement once all unselected petitions have been returned and clients should not inquire about the status of a submitted cap cases until that announcement is made and neither a receipt or returned case is received.
