DOL Report Shows Substantial Slowing of PERM Processing Time
July 2, 2009
DOL has released a performance report which confirms what we already know as true. The report shows the percentage of PERM applications resolved within six months of filing is down to 11% for Q1 2009 compared to 94% for the same quarter last year.
DOL states that PERM program performance continues to significantly decrease due to:
- The impact of increasing integrity activities in light of the declining economy and continued filings.
- The Office of Foreign Labor Certification is currently developing baseline targets for an enhanced PERM performance measure and a new PERM integrity measure. These measures are scheduled for approval and implementation at the beginning of FY 2010.
