USCIS Releases New Form I-9

USCIS announced Nov. 7th that it has released a new version of Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, as well at the M-274, Handbook for Employers, Instructions for Completing the Form I-9, which is available for use now. The revision reduced the number of documents employers may accept to confirm identity and work eligibility. USCIS "encourages" use of the new form immediately, but indicates that it will not be required until notice is published in the Federal Register.

The new I-9 and handbook can be accessed on the USCIS website.
