Upcoming USCIS Teleconference: Adjudication of L-1B "Specialized Knowledge" Worker Petitions

On Tuesday, 02/07/2012, the USCIS Ombudsman will host a teleconference from 2 to 3 PM EST to discuss the experiences of employers filing L-1B nonimmigrant petitions with USCIS.

The L-1B classification allows an employer to petition for an employee who has "specialized knowledge" of the employer's products, services, research, equipment, techniques, or management and its application in international markets, or expertise in the employer's processes and procedures, from a qualified affiliated entity outside the U.S.

In recent years, USCIS adjudication of L-1B petitions have become very strict and petitioners may be interested in participating in this teleconference in which USCIS may discuss the ongoing issues regarding the standards utilized for L-1B petitions.

Participants are encouraged to join this discussion by anonymously sharing their experiences during the teleconference.
