January 2012 Visa Bulletin: Huge Progress for EB-2

January 2012 Visa Bulletin: Huge Progress for EB-2
December 9, 2011

The cut-off dates for EB-2 India and China advanced 9.5 months from the December Visa Bulletin, to January 1, 2009.  EB-3 dates moved much more modestly: one week for India, approximately 1.25 months for China and 2 weeks for all other EB-3 countries of chargeability.

The China and India EB-2 cut-off date has advanced at a rapid rate since September.  As previously noted, this action was intended to generate significant levels of new filings for adjustment of status at USCIS. USCIS has reported that the rate of new filings is currently far below that which they had anticipated, prompting an even more aggressive movement of the cut-off date for January and possibly beyond.

ILG maintains accurate record all clients’ priority dates and will diligently and proactively reach out to clients who are eligible to file for AOS in January.  ILG ask clients to bear in mind the significant advancement of dates and refrain from unnecessary inquiries so that we may work quicker for all our valuable clients.
