April 26, 2012

The State Department has confirmed that the annual limit in the EB-2 category for China (mainland) and India born applicants has been reached. The State Department notified USCIS on April 11, 2012, that no further immigrant visas (green cards) for those categories can be authorized.

USCIS will continue to accept I-485 applications through April, based upon cut-off dates published in the April Visa Bulletin. However, pending EB-2 I-485s cannot be approved by USCIS until FY2013, which begins on October 1, 2012.
