The Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC) recently disclosed data for the PERM Permanent Labor Certification Program for the first quarter of the FY2015 (October 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014). The department received 23,133 applications during this period (+31% from Q1 FY14). Application processing data reveals that of these applications, 16,192 have been certified, 1,322 denied and 1,104 withdrawn. Of active PERM applications, 60% are under initial analyst review, while 30% are under audit review and 8% under appeal. As of December 31, 2014, 64,810 applications remain.
Additional data reveals the top five occupations specified on applications include: Computer and Mathematical (58%); Architecture and Engineering (10%); Management (8%); Business and Financial Operations (7%); and Education, Training and Library (5%). Top industries include: Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services (44%); Manufacturing (16%); Information (10%); Educational Services (7%); and Finance and Insurance (6%).
Top work site states include: California (27%); Texas (8%); New York (8%); New Jersey (8%); and Washington (6%). Applicants come from the following counties: India (57%); China (8%); South Korea (5%); Canada (5%); and the Philippines (2%).
