About the Firm

Our Attorneys

Sharon K. Hom, Senior Attorney

Sharon joins Immigration Law Group with over six years of experience in business immigration law. She has counseled countless successful high technology organizations through periods of growth and downsizing and brings to our organization NAFTA expertise.

Sharon's professional career began in 1983 when she was involved in litigation work. She began practicing immigration law in 1995 when she joined the law firm of Jackson & Hertogs, and in 1999, Sharon joined the firm of Won-Chung & Baker LLP (WCB) at its formation. Sharon was instrumental in opening WCB's Oakland branch office where she managed and built a team of nine people within one year. Sharon takes pride in her personalized touch in practicing immigration law and her ability to immediately work with corporations and its foreign national population in forming creative strategies and solutions to address their concerns. She has also spoken at various immigration seminars and enjoys training hiring managers and immigration specialists.

Sharon has represented a variety of business entities comprised of Fortune 500 companies as well as start-up companies. Her client base included Calix Networks, ONI Systems, Daimler-Benz, Fujikura America, Quickturn Systems (Cadence Design), Spectra Physics, Sun Microsystems, Applied Materials, Synopsys, and Cisco Systems.

Community involvement and children's educational opportunities are important to her as she is a regular volunteer at her children's school and has encouraged pro-bono work for school districts.

Sharon is a member of the California Bar and she graduated with a Juris Doctorate from University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from University of California, Davis.
